This site will continue to grow and there are many more great things in the works for the future.

Cameron has been the face of this site for the past month or so and I would like to throw out a special thanks to all his hard work. I (kevin) have sort of let life take over  since our new baby “Grayson” has joined our Fishy Kid Family. Thanks Cameron.

Since we are in the midst of all the Thanksgivings. I want to throw out a special thanks to all of the artist that have made this start up site possible. The wonderful support from the whole community would not be possible without such great work from all these creative minds.

I now want to give thanks to all of the donations from these different manufactures. I have been absolutely floored by the amount of wonderful support from everyones generous gifts. (please visit all our sponsors and give them thanks and tell them that Fishy Kid took you there)

ONE MORE CALL OUT…. All the wonderful folks that have sent donations to help support this site. This whole project started small and we did not realize how big it would grow and how quickly. We have shipping cost to deal with and we want to get the prizes in the hands of all the kids and the parents who have participated. Your donations help offset this out of pocket cost to Cameron and myself. THANK YOU.

This whole project started as something that was originally going to be a small contest on Cameron’s blog and at the time my blog. My blog has since turned into my personal design business site. The original outpouring of great art from the contributers made the original contest need a little more. After a little brainstorming and a week later, Fishy Kid was born. Then I built the site in a quick logical way. Now we are realizing that this idea is filling a family hole within our fishing community and figuring how to make this grow for our kids. Manufacture Support from this great work has been amazing.

Cameron and I are looking at the future of “FISHY KID” and what it can and should be. I guess this is a list of our shoulda coulda wouldas… We “could have” waited to make the business plan and have a good true vision of what all this should be – We have a vision and it is clear “Families Playing Outside Together”. In some sense we “should have” waited but why – we wanted to share this with the world. I guess this is how true grass roots organizations start.

What does the future have in store? More contest…. We are going to create another coloring book and have another coloring contest. There will be a writing contest for the kids to have a chance to win a NuCanoe. There are some monthly contest giveaways in the works. I personally want to create t-shirts and stickers and wonder who is interested (send me an email at gofish@fishykid.org). We would like to create the real “business” side of this idea and make this whole project real… creating a non-profit organization that is here for the kids and their families. This will grow with support of other non-profits to create educational programs for the kids and their families.

Again, this a great big thanks to everyone that has made Fishy Kid what it is and what it will become.
